He was abused, neglected, and malnourished. He's so fun. He's a bully/retriever and he has ears like stitch from Lilo and Stitch. His social skills are at 8 mo.'s, intelligence beyond his 2 yrs. We're glad he wasn't purchased. The free gift of Shadow is teaching us to be a team, communicate better, and love unconditionally. Once again, You rock! I really think that this is a big area (out of many) where people just aren't educated enough about the horrors that buying companion animals creates. I do think that most people who purchase companions from breeders do care about animals and if they knew more about the effects of breeding and selling they might choose not to participate. It always makes my stomach churn when I hear of someone's new "pure" bred puppy. Thank you so much for this post.
