Well, we asked the waiter (which may have been a mistake). He claimed that was the only vegan beer - but clearly you've pointed out there are more. I expected that a waiter in LA would know these things, but next time I'll have more to choose from! thanks!

Are you saying the Pinkus was the only vegan beer at Good Micro Brew & Beer? Just glancing at their website -http://www.goodmicrobrew.com - they have a ton - everything from Green Flash, North Coast, Allagash, Victory, New Belgium, Lindemanns, Hebrew, Stone (their previous head brewer was vegan too!), Rogue (only their cask conditioned ales and 1 honey beer are not vegan). That's just a quick glance though, at 3am. Generally, I steer clear of all British beers (except Samuel Smith and Fuller's) because almost every single one uses the ol' fish guts.

hope you weren't in LA when I was.
But.
LA is not only a big dirty city of strip malls BUT ALSO one with a new, constantly expanding TRANSIT system.
Yes it's true. For example I took the train to brunch, walked to go shopping and see the city, and took an express bus to the airport. After studying the transit map and seeing signs about their long-range transportation plan to include new subway lines, I think LA is doing exactly the right thing...I already know of actual Los Angelenos who are car-free.
Yay!
