I went out to Pennsylvania for a weekend in the woods. I made vegan s’mores, shot some wildlife (with my camera) and just relaxed listening to the rain and the crickets.
Easy Vegan S’mores
What you’ll need:
- Vegan Marshmallows (I recommend Sweet & Sarah)
- Dark-Chocolate Bar
- Honey-free Graham Crackers (Keebler, Nabisco, and Health Valley makes one, or MAKE YOUR OWN)
- Fire, oven, or stove
Directions
- Break up chocolate bar into 1″x1″ squares
- place on half a graham cracker
- either place marshmallow on top and broil, or roast marshmallow over open flame and then plcae on top.
- Finally, put the other half of your graham cracker on top to finish the sandwich!
Some friends from the North East Forests!

Chef and photographer! Stop being annoyingly talented. Friend of a friend who used to work at Pure Food is opening a raw vegan cafe on 5th and Ave. C I thought you might like. It’s called 5c Vegan Cafe. Only open from Thursday to Sunday but worth a try. The number is 212-477-5993
Those s’mores look amazing… I’ve got some sweet & sarah in the fridge that would be perfect for that.
Speaking of things that are and aren’t vegan…. I was interested to see Stonyfield farms Soy yogurt at the bodega, until I read the ingredients and saw that they “contain milk”. So watch out – it’s not safe to assume that just because it’s “soy yogurt” that it’s vegan.

Oh YUM…that looks so delicious! Love the photos too
You are quite the photographer. Those pics are gorgeous! Glad to see being vegan isn’t messing with your “manly” roots and you are still “shooting” the wildlife like a good “macho man” should
