		<description>i&#039;ve noticed this weird, gross fad too. great article and definitely agree with its sentiment, but i really don&#039;t like the dis on the academic field of philosophy. we work freaking HARD in this field and the amount of rigor and clarity expected of us shows up in philosophy majors&#039; ridiculously high LSAT scores. hipsters are lame, their savior jacques derrida is lame, but the entire field of philosophy is certainly not. grr. &gt;:O</description>

I noticed, reading an ad for a local upcoming museum event that pork products in general are listed as key appetizers (high-end salami and high-end cheese spreads, with olives and, of course, wine).   I find that a lot of my friends cannot believe I&#039;m eating a vegan diet primarily because they cannot imagine forgoing those kinds of treats...  The association of high class with certain appetizers is as strong as the association of the working class with lowly bacon.  ...</description>
