Hey there, David. Thanks for the suggestions. I could indeed see the stew coming across better to some aesthetically with more angular carrot chunks. I’d say go for it! And I’m a huge fan of smoked paprika, I think a little extra of that would go great on the top, as would a dollop of anything base-ish, like some soy yogurt or even a little chipotle soy sour cream. may I propose that you dont cut carrots in circles? Whilst an ardent veggo and promoting like mad here in braai-land, the bowl of stew made me want to not eat it because of the carrot circles- how about more angled cuts and faceted chips?

picky I know, but in as much as converting the flesh eating masses means not reinforcing stereotypes ….

and how about a dab of soya yoghurt on the top with a sprinkling of sumac or paprika, or in the centre a dollop of jalapeno humus – yum

apart from that i love your blog and have tried to link it to my facebook, but it doesnt seem to show …
