.Get out that cutting board & some pots n' pans - Here are a few of my recent alkaline dinner dishes that are sure to delight. All of the below listed recipes maintain your pH balance, as they consist solely of awesome alkalining veggies/fruits, healthy oils and sensational seasonings. These days, I'm all about soups, purees, souffles and sautes, so without further adieu, dinner is served!!

One soup that is sure to rock your socks off is my broccoli-squash-coconut-creamy-almond milk puree. I made up this recipe a couple weeks ago and I dug it so much I couldn't wait to share it with the DB readers.

Broccoli-Squash-Coconut-Almond Milk Pureed Soup Ingredients:

• 1 Head Broccoli

• 1 Kombocha Squash
• 1 Coconut
• 1/2 cup of fresh almond milk
• 2 Celery Stalks
• Sunflower Oil to saute in
• 1/4 Onion
• Couple cloves of Garlic
• Bunch of Basil
• Pinch or two of Sea Salt
• Imagine Organic No-Chicken Broth (http://www.imaginefoods.com/)

Directions:

1. Steam the head of broccoli & the kombocha squash
2. Saute onions and garlic till they turn slightly brown in sunflower oil, then add Imagine Organic No-Chicken Broth and warm the broth.
3. Drink the coconut water and then scoop out the remaining coconut meat for the soup
4. Add all the aforementioned cooked ingredients (peeled squash, broccoli, soup broth w/garlic & onions) into a Vitamix or blender - then add:

Coconut meat
2 Celery Stalks
Bunch of Basil
Pinch or two of Sea Salt
1/2 cup of fresh almond milk (I suggest making your own fresh homemade batch: soak a cup of almonds overnight in water, rinse clean, then put them in a Vitamix with 2 cups of water, blend till smooth, then "milk" the almond liquid into a container through a "nut-milk bag" - Terrific Instructional Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvXx8c2j2KA)

5. Blend it all up into a creamy, smooth consistency. Pour into a bowl or glass and if you so desire, serve with an ornamental piece of squash on the rim of the bowl/glass.

Another dish I recently invented is a delectable souffle-puree that mimics a mash potato dish, minus the starchy acidity!

Cauliflower-Kabocha-Squash "Mashed Potatoes" Ingredients:

• 1 head of Cauliflower
• 1/4 Kabocha Squash
• Sunflower Oil to sautee in
• 1/4 Onion
• Couple cloves of Garlic
• Slice of Lemon
• Pinch of fresh Dill & Parsely
• Pinch or two of Sea Salt & Pepper
• Tablespoon of Olive Oil & Coconut Oil

Directions:

1. Steam the Cauliflower & Komboacha Squash
2. Low flame saute with sunflower oil - add chopped onions and fresh garlic, saute till browned.
3. Add the following into a blender or Vitamix & blend till smooth and creamy "mashed potato" consistency:

Steamed Cauliflower
Steamed de-pealed Komboacha
Sauteed Onions & Garlic
Squeeze of Lemon
Pinch of fresh Dill & Parsely
Pinch or two of Sea Salt & Pepper
Tablespoon of Olive Oil & Coconut Oil

A tried and true dinner staple of mine is the kale saute, which can be dressed up a millions ways... Try on this one for size!

2. Once the garlic and onions are a little crisp, throw in the raw kale.
3. Add spices: garlic, ginger, pepper and sea salt.

As promised at the tail end of my last entry, here are a few of my recent alkaline culinary inventions straight to your computer screen from my home kitchen. All of these meals maintain your pH balance, as they consist solely of awesome alkalining veggies/fruits, healthy oils and sensational seasonings. Something about this new way of eating has awakened a more creative chef within me - and even cooler, my taste buds have shifted dramatically to craving more healthy and innovative produce combinations, rather than my old sugar-coated, acidic ways.

So without further adieu, check out these "nix alkaline recipes", give em' a go in your own kitch, and feel the power and energy of eating like a gourmet gorilla!

Breakfast:

Gone are the days of starting my day with cereal or a stack of pancakes. Now, instead of a bowl of difficult-to-digest, sluggish oatmeal, I'll whip up an awesome, alkaline-ing avocado shake. This is an amazing way to begin the day - not only is this shake jam-packed with health, for ultimate energy, but it tastes awesome & is uber-refreshing!!

Avocado Morning Shake Ingredients:

• 1 Sliced Cucumber

• 1 Bunch of Spinach and/or Arugula

• Handful of Dill, Cilantro, Parsley,

• Cherry Tomatos

• Tablespoon of Lemon Juice

2. When smooth, pour in glass

3. Drizzle tea spoon of olive oil, flax and/or hemp oil Top with one cherry tomato and a teaspoon of hempseeds

4. Sprinkle some ginger, garlic and curry powder on top

5. Add a celery stick as a stirrer to mix & enjoy

FYI: You can simplify this recipe if you like by simply blending avocados, cucumber, spinach or arugula, lime and ice. That will be super tasty as well.

Lunch:

For a mid-day meal, I suggest pigging out on an awesome garlic-guacamole collard leaf wrap & a kick-ass kale sautee. These green dishes are full of protein and healthy fats that will no doubt sustain you through the middle of your day, leaving you feeling satisfied and full of pep!

Garlic-Guac Collard Wrap Ingredients:

• Bunch of Basil, Dill, Parsley

• Tablespoon of Lemon/Lime juice

• Pinch of Sea Salt

*Special added ingredient - I am obsessed with "Majestic Garlic" (www.majesticgarlic.com), a garlic paste available at most Whole Foods, as well as online. This creamy, delectable vegan spread is an awesome addition to literally any meal. If you wanna' make this guac extra creamy, add in a teaspoon of this delicious delicacy.

Directions:

1. Throw all above aforementioned ingredients in a Cuisineart or blender and whip it up!

2. Then put a dollop in the center of a collard leaf, wrap it up and chomp away!!

Kick-ass Kale Saute

• Tablespoon of Hemp seeds, Olive Oil, Hemp Oil, Lemon Juice

Directions:

Low-flame-saute onions and fresh garlic in sunflower oil.

Once the garlic and onions are a little crisp, throw in the raw kale

Marinate until the kale is softer, but not cooked through - still a bit tender/raw.

Add tomato sauce and spices: garlic, ginger, curry powder and sea salt.

Take a plate and put a handful of fresh dill in center of plate.

I hope you enjoy these Alkaline dishes. There are no rules to any of these meals, so feel free to use my ingredient list as a blueprint and they have fun and create your own take using the green alkaline foundation. Dinner dishes will be up next, so please stay tuned!!

So, in the spirit & hopes of sharing cool, ethical experiences, new-findings, off-the-beaten path advice, gourmet vegan-alkaline recipes/meals, lip-smacking-drool-inducing culinary pictures, and some other random-but cool-related topics I haven't yet conjured up, I'd like to offer you a free ticket that will never expire, on the ride of my life... There is no height requirement for this roller-coaster, all you need is a computer, open eyes, open mind and an open heart.

I've Been Shot!
My first bit of advice is an easy enough habit to start, and it packs an energy punch that kicks caffeine's ass. I'm beginning everyday with a shot of Chlorophyll - you can't OD on this awesome stuff - it's derived from high quality alfalfa leaves and is imperative to the process of photosynthesis. The brand that I really dig is World Organic Chlorophyll. It tastes great and you feel the energy surging through your body immediately. You can pick up a bottle of this green goodness at any Whole Foods, neighborhood co op, healthfood store or at several online retailers.
