The Ethical Writers Coalition presents a round-table discussion on vegan fashion and sustainability. This exciting event features moderator Joshua Katcher (adjunct professor at Parsons The New School, founder of Brave Gentleman, and editor at The Discerning Brute), with fellow vegan fashion designers discussing the challenges and latest innovations, from high-tech, low-impact synthetics to lab-grown leather. It’s a must for aspiring designers, stylish vegans, and anyone interested in sustainable fashion. Join us for an inspiring conversation over refreshments from Little Choc Apothecary. Ask questions, meet the designers, and learn what’s next for cruelty-free design.

BIG Men’s Pre-Sale at VAUTE!

For only 24 hours, dudes and anyone into menswear will get a huge 50% off their orders for VAUTE coats! If you’d rather check the new samples out in person first, this very limited run of sustainable, vegan, made-in-NYC coats can be seen this week and weekend at the VAUTE shop in Brooklyn. (Psst, the model is Christopher, one-half of the famed Dun-Well Doughnuts… so yes, you can eat tons of award-winning vegan doughnuts and still be a model.) VAUTE Men’s Spring 13

These animal-inspired, organic cotton button-downs from Vaute are great for spring. They’re colorful, youthful and feature horses and bears. I’m also excited about the “James” Havanah and black waxed-cotton motorcycled jackets. Put these Jackets on top of the shirts and you’ve got a youthful bad-boy look that is irresistible.

You and a guest have the chance to win tickets to see Vaute by Leanne Mai-ly Hilgart at New York Fashion Week this Wednesay February 6th, 11:30 am-12:30 pm. Vaute is the first 100% vegan and sustainable brand to show at New York Fashion week which is pretty historic. Hilgart’s label has taken leaps and bounds in the last two years, opening her flagship store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and developing an entire collection that is inspiring, ambitious and stunning. And yes, there’s menswear, which is why you should be there!

10 people and their guest will be hand-selected by Ms. Hilgart herself, based on their answers below in the comment section. The contest is today only! Comments will close at midnight.

Leanne asks, “What men’s apparel piece would you love to see more ethical options for?”

Good luck and hope to see you there!
