DISCERNING BRUTES: Marc-Olivier Brouillette

"I play one of the most violent sports on earth, where most problems are solved by just "sucking it up" or “being a man” about it. A world where testosterone is king and men are defined by their willingness to do whatever it takes. Where compassion and vulnerability are signs of weakness.

Football is a part of me, but it does not define me. I am not just another dumb jock. My strength does not lie in my ability to run fast or lift heavy weights but instead in my consciousness and self-awareness. I am a Vegan. I have compassion for animals. I care about our planet. I meditate. I write about my feelings. I have no shame in that. Being a strong man is not about being who or what people think you should be, it’s about being YOU.”
